The third festival of wrestling "Tugan Batyr"

On 26 November, 2023, the third Tugan Batyr wrestling festival was held at the Ak Bars martial arts palace. Once again, about 400 young men aged 7 to 14 gathered for a tournament in three types of wrestling - grappling, freestyle and Greco-Roman. The festival was held with the support of the All-Russian public and state movement of children and youth "Movement of the First". In addition to prizes in the form of medals, cups and themed gifts, the winner traditionally received a Sony PlayStation console. Spectators received lottery tickets at the entrance, with which they could win prizes.
Tugan Batyr is a popular fairy-tale national Tatar hero, whose story combines all the legends and myths of the people. The author of the project to revive and give the hero a new image is Radik Abdrakhmanov. A cartoon is already being created, a theatrical production has been written and a book about Tugan Batyr has been presented. Work is also underway on a mobile video game and various attributes - clothing, souvenirs and toys.
Among the honored guests of the festival were: President of the Wrestling Federation of the Republic of Tatarstan Ekzam Gubaydullin, First Deputy Minister of Sports of the Republic of Tatarstan Khalil Shaikhutdinov, President of the Fight Nights Global promotion company Kamil Gadzhiev, representative of the head of the Chechen Republic, Hero of Russia Ramzan Kadyrov in the Republic of Tatarstan Aslambek Berdukaev.
Each honored guest expressed words of gratitude to the mothers of young athletes, since the event was held on Mother's Day.
"Most often they say about a boy: "All like his father." In such cases, mothers are forgotten, although they pay great attention to the upbringing of their sons."
Ekzam Gubaydullin noted that the festival has a great patriotic meaning:
"The competitions are held under sanctions and difficult times. Our defenders are fighting for our freedom in the SVO zone. They make a huge contribution to the victory of our country. Our goal is to educate the younger generation, patriots, defenders of our Motherland."
The president of the wrestling federation also positively assessed the image of Tugan Batyr:
"He personifies not only the strength and will of the Tatar people, but also all the peoples who live in Tatarstan. Each athlete has his own idol: parents, brother or sister. Tugan Batyr is an image that collects all the good and kind qualities. He should live among us and in our hearts."
Khalil Shaikhutdinov said that thanks to such sports tournaments, champions of Russia, Europe, the world and the Olympic Games emerge, and real men are tempered.
Immediately after the welcoming words, the Millennium dance group performed for the guests to the anthem of the Tugan Batyr project. Then there was a screening of a cartoon about Tugan Batyr, in which the hero fought evil.
After the bright opening ceremony, young athletes competed in a fair fight on the mats. The main prize in the form of a game console was won by Ilya Pikalev from Leninogorsk, who competed in the Greco-Roman wrestling discipline.
