Tugan Batyr is a courageous and strong, savvy and reliable, inquisitive and hardworking character. He prefers to defeat his enemies rather by power than by inventiveness. Tugan Batyr loves his family, friends, fellow villagers wholeheartedly and respects all kind and sincere people. He is a devoted keeper of the family traditions, while sensitively listening to the wise advice of the elders. Tugan Batyr realizes that, when losing touch with the roots, a person loses itself and gets devastated. Gulchachak is Tugan's playfellow and favorite girlfriend. She is smart, brave, kind, loyal and beautiful. She is devoted to Tugan wholeheartedly. When the most difficult situations, she provides Tugan with wise advice and support.
Galim-babay is the elder of the village where Tugan Batyr was born and lived. He is the mentor of all children, including Tugan. He noticed Tugan's curiosity in his early childhood and began to pay special attention to him, while sharing his wisdom and ancient traditions.
Shurale is the Spirit of the forest, who became a friend of Tugan Batyr. The Shurale tribe lives in the forests and protects them and the inhabitants of nearby villages from bandits. Tugan has rescued Shurale from captivity, and since then they have been friends and helped each other.
He is a loyal friend of Tugan Batyr. Tugan has bought him from a merchant-caravaner as a tiny falcon and raised him. Falcon became not only Tugan's favorite pet, but also a reliable helpmate and partner in all his adventures.
THE ZIHGIR RING
Zihgir is a thumb protection ring that is used to pull a bow string. Galim-Babay has presented Tugan Batyr with that Zihgir, possessing a remarkable ability in helping to choose the right way of action, while heating up or becoming cold.
