The premiere of the play "Tugan Batyr" was a great success in Kazan
On July 3rd and 4th, the Galiasgar Kamal Theater hosted the first performances of the large-scale musical fantasy play "Tugan Batyr."

Aidar Zabbarov's production of Ruzal Mukhametshin's play has already been called one of the theater's most expensive projects and became the final premiere of the season. It's a modern story in which Tatar mythology meets reality: Kazan teenage hockey player Dzhavdat falls into a basement and finds himself in the mysterious Lower Kazan, where he meets his legendary ancestor, Tugan Batyr. Together with his faithful companion Gulchachak and the stern Div, the heroes must stop the evil spirit Karakot, who devours human memory.

These two days will forever remain etched in our memories. During these evenings, the Galiasgar Kamal Theater breathed, lived, and beat in unison with each of you. The hall was full—we saw your sparkling eyes, heard your laughter, felt your tension at the most poignant moments, and received your applause, which sent shivers down our spines. Thank you for this energy—you gave us incredible strength!
"Tugan Batyr" is more than just a performance. It is our attempt to create a world we want to believe in. This is a story about how ancient legends never die; they live among us—in the basements of old Kazan houses, in the rustle of the wind, in the memories of our ancestors. Our hero is an ordinary Kazan boy, Dzhavdat, a hockey player who never dreamed of heroic deeds. But fate cast him into mysterious Nizhnyaya Kazan, where he meets Tugan Batyr himself, the courageous Gulchachak, and the stern Div. They must stop Karakot, an evil spirit who steals from people what is most precious—their memories.

Have you heard this music? Composer Elmir Nizamov created eight tracks for us, which we're sure have already found a home in your hearts. This is music that makes you cry and laugh at the same time, music that takes your breath away.

We wanted to prove that theater can be more powerful than any smartphone screen. We poured everything into this production: our souls, our nerves, our sleepless nights, thousands of hours of rehearsals, our dreams, and our fears. And when you gave us a standing ovation, we knew it was worth it. We did it. We did it together!

But this is just the beginning! "Tugan Batyr" will live, breathe, and return to the stage again. Stay tuned—there are many more performances and surprises ahead.
